Klaus was feeling both angry and concerned. There was no fear of danger for themselves, only for Roxy. By the time they got to the clearing it was another five minutes or so to town.

“Where do you live?” Stephan asked her.

“I’m good from here on out. Thanks for walking me,” she said and went to pull away but neither let go. She looked up at Stephan as Klaus moved to face her. Stephan cupped her cheek. She closed her eyes and leaned into his palm.

“I know you’re attracted to us. It’s obvious you’re scared, and perhaps someone hurt you. We don’t know. We want to get to know you better, and if it’s time you need then we can work on that.”

She opened her eyes. “Stephan, I can’t do—”

He pressed his lips to hers gently and Klaus released her hand and Stephan pulled her into his arms and kissed her thoroughly. The sight had Klaus’s cock growing hard, his heart racing and thoughts of making love to Roxy and sharing her with his brothers invaded his mind. He imagined protecting her, claiming her and that shocked him. They would need to know about her past and the trouble that could be attached to her. As Stephan released her lips and kissed her forehead, she exhaled but gripped his shirt. “How can this be real?”

“Oh, it’s real. Very real,” Klaus said and pulled her towards him and cupped her cheek and stared down into her eyes. He lowered so she could reach his lips. “Kiss me, Roxy. A first step toward getting to know one another, toward building a trust so you can move on from the past.”

He hadn’t expected the tears in her eyes from his words. Nor did he expect her to reach up with her feminine hand and cup his bearded cheek. She held his gaze.

“I’m scared. So scared you have no idea.” He pursed his lips.

“Trust us,” Stephan said, placing his hands on her shoulders.

She closed her eyes and took a couple of breaths before she stood up on tiptoes and kissed Klaus.
